Blackman Detective Services was founded by William Allison Blackman in 1993 after 30 years of exemplary service with the Raleigh Police Department, where he retired as a homicide investigator.

The firm offers a full line of investigative services, including a well-established practice in workers’ compensation insurance claims. Clients range from large international corporations to private citizens, and the team is dedicated to understanding the complex issues each client encounters.

Jamie Mitchell

Blackman Detective Services entered a new chapter in 2019 when Jamie Mitchell, a licensed Private Investigator and bondsman, became the owner of the firm, proudly continuing its legacy as a minority- and female-owned company.

Before taking ownership, Jamie spent five years working full-time with Blackman Detective Services, learning the business firsthand under the mentorship of Mr. Blackman and Mr. Bissette. That foundation, combined with her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to her community, prepared her to lead a company that had already established decades of trust.
